For the first time… ever, my birthday has sort of...

For the first time… ever, my birthday has sort of surprised me this year. So, with one week left in my 25th year, I’m sort of hoping to set the bar for my 26th. On the docket:

Monday: concert date with JCK. We saw Iron & Wine a few years ago and were completely blown away by how amazing he and his band are live. If I’m being totally honest, I have a hard time spending money on concert tickets, but we’re nearly always so impressed by who we see, so it’s something I’d like to change. Great place to start? Here.

Tuesday: JOBS. Since graduating late last month I’ve been applying & interviewing for new positions here and there, but it’s time to get totally serious about my future. I need a change and am looking forward to my next professional challenge, so Tuesday evening will be spent redoing my resume (again) and researching great positions to apply for. Pittsburghers, any ideas?

Wednesday: fitness. Having just run the Pittsburgh Half 2 weeks ago and Race for the Cure this past weekend, I think a long run + some weight work will be just the ticket. Hoping to get back in to Pure Barre and more of an organized “on-the-calendar” fitness schedule.

Thursday: clothes. NEED to get my clothing situation under control. I currently have the majority of my winter clothes on my bed at my parents’ house in garbage bags and my spring & summer clothes in enormous Rubbermaid bins on the floor. Do better Molly. Significant amounts of clothing need to be donated… soon.

Friday: work. Big-time work event that will go late into the night, but going to give it my all for what I hope is my last organization-wide event in my current role, and have a nice big glass of white wine with my husband (though he prefers red) when I get home. I also have a few outstanding design projects I hope to have completed by Friday.

Saturday: celebrate! JCK and I are getting up bright and early to make the trip to State College to celebrate my birthday a little early. We met on Penn State’s campus (on the finest ‘club dance floor’ actually, if you can call it that…). Looking to get nostalgic and romp around our old haunts there. Should be an amazing day + hoping the weather & Pens’ playoff schedule cooperates.

Sunday: focus. Some shopping, some hiking and some ice cream in State College is likely in store. But I hope to set some goals for 26 on Sunday night (i.e., budgeting to save for a house, planning to get an Etsy shop and proper blog going, organize so I can have a successful job search plan).

SO, that’s the plan. 7 more days of 25. Here’s hoping it’s a good one.

Seeing this guy tonight (our second time seeing Iron & Wine actually!), pretty darn excited.
