This weekend was for cabrewing. Something we do nearly every summer (last year we were at a wedding in Florida, and missed out on the festivities). A whole group of my friends from high school rent a school bus, start drinking at an ungodly hour, pack lunches, band our canoes together using life vests, and float along all day.
I have to admit, this year I wasn’t looking forward to it as much as I have in previous years. The 2-day recovery and being covered in bruises (getting in and out of a canoe only gross, slippy, moldy rock is NOT easy!) doesn’t bode well for someone who lives in dresses, but I have to say I truly enjoyed myself.
There’s something to be said about being on the water, even if it’s just the Monongahela River.
